The year 2008 saw me in my most favorite bookshop in Cairo,
not as a reader and not as a customer, but as a writer launching his first
book. The whole publishing story was all because of PTP. The fact that I got
the courage to publish my works, the friend and fellow Templar Nezar
Shehabbuddin who introduced me to the publisher, and my dear friend and fellow
Templar Dina Mahmoud who hosted me in Diwan, and almost all of the attendees
were my fellow Templars who were there to celebrate and share my happiness.
By the end of 2008, Camel announced that he will give away
the moderation to Rehab, my dear friend Rou. A new plan was being made for the
group where the events were no longer to be made by individual Templars but
rather by a group of Templars interested in certain category of culture. I was
chosen to head the presentations team and I chose to be a member of the book
discussion team.
A new experience was now absorbing me; creating a team,
ensuring that they are right for the job, having all the passion and dedication
to give PTP a marvelous event on monthly basis, keeping the spirit high and
trying to overcome problems and resolve issues. For two whole years the
presentation team was another family for me. Every single month we would meet
and discuss and agree and disagree and share and plan and get excited over
topics. Those two years were really the best in my relationship with PTP. I
made sure that each member was doing a passionate work and would do anything to
make it see the light as perfect as they wanted it to be, and now, looking
back, I feel happy and proud to have been able to take that challenge. We
became like a big family or group of friends that love doing an impressive
event to PTP. There was an amazing spirit in all the members who were all
passionate and dedicated to give their very best.
Another experience that was equally amazing was being a
member in the book discussion team and enjoying writing all those posts,
moderating book discussions and group stories and participating in poetry
nights.
How can a man describe the best and most influential eight
years of his life in words, those days were not meant to be written about or
described, they were made to be lived and enjoyed by the minute. I look back on myself at the beginning of
2004 and I keep wondering how my life could have been if I haven’t bought that
issue of Akhbar El Adab and my eyes met that article about PTP.
All I can say is that I’m grateful for all those days, for
all this knowledge and fulfillment, for every single moment I spent with PTP
and for all those people that gave me the best of friends and made my life a
colorful journey.
On yahoo or on facebook, with or without moderation, PTP has
never been limited to a certain virtual space, PTP was all about passion and
passion has no place but the heart.
